| Kim "too tall" Hayley | |||||||||||||||||||
| Kim Hayley was born on May 18, 1951 in Houston, Texas. He started playing bass and guitar when he was 14 years old. He purchased his first bass guitar on installments from money earned mowing lawns. He plays that same Fender Bass today. | |||||||||||||||||||
| After
several successful bands while attending high school, Kim
began playing professionally at the age of 18.
Later, he studied classical bass, composition, and theory
while attending Sam Houston State University.
Kim then migrated to Los Angeles, California in 1973 and
did session work and played in a variety of bands. In 1979, Kim returned to his home state of Texas. Choosing to reside in the bourgening new music scene in Austin, he soon joined the band of Rusty Weir. Kim carried the bottom end for the band until 1987 when he founded the Daddios. Over the years Kim has even made albums of his own music with a band he leads called The Sweaters, which had great success in overseas record sales, especially in the Euorean market. Kim's life long devotion as a career musician has earned him the priviledge of playing, not only with his fellow Daddios, but with such greats as The Drifters, and Chuck Berry. |
